Job Description

NJPAC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Violin Teacher with a strong classical focus to join our esteemed faculty. This is a unique opportunity to shape the musical journey of aspiring violinists within a professional and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional performance skills, a deep understanding of classical violin repertoire and pedagogy, and a proven ability to inspire and educate students from diverse backgrounds and age groups. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive lesson plans, guiding students through technical and musical development, preparing them for performances and examinations, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for classical music.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert violin instruction, focusing on classical technique, musicianship, and repertoire.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, competitions, and examinations.
  • Collaborate with other NJPAC faculty members on curriculum development and performance opportunities.
  • Maintain a professional and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrative staff.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development workshops.

Required Skills

  • Mastery of classical violin performance and pedagogy.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching violin to students of various ages and skill levels.
  • Extensive knowledge of classical violin repertoire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching within a conservatory, music school, or established arts institution.
  • Familiarity with various pedagogical methods (e.g., Suzuki, traditional).
  • Performance experience in professional classical ensembles or as a soloist.
