Job Description
Are you a motivated and energetic 14-year-old looking for your first active job in a supportive community environment? ShopRite in Journal Square is seeking enthusiastic Grocery Runners to join our team! This entry-level position is perfect for teens eager to gain valuable work experience, develop strong customer service skills, and contribute to the smooth operation of our busy grocery store. You’ll be an important part of our team, helping customers with their purchases and ensuring our store remains tidy and welcoming. This is an on-site, active role that requires standing, walking, and light lifting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with bagging groceries efficiently and carefully.
- Help customers transport groceries to their vehicles, providing excellent customer service.
- Collect shopping carts from parking lots and store areas, returning them to designated corrals.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of aisles, checkout areas, and store entrances.
- Support store associates with various tasks as needed, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and store policies.
Required Skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Good physical stamina for standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 20 lbs).
- Reliability and punctuality.
