Key Responsibilities

- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Accurately identify patients and label collected samples to maintain chain of custody.
- Process and prepare blood and other biological specimens for transport and laboratory analysis.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and reordering as needed.
- Document all collection procedures, patient interactions, and any incidents with precision.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors regarding collection procedures and scheduling.
- Understand and follow UPS Healthcare logistics protocols for secure sample handling and transportation.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
