Job Description
Join the Save-On-Foods team in Parksville as a Grocery Clerk / Stocker! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in retail, with no prior experience required. You will be responsible for maintaining well-stocked shelves, assisting customers, and ensuring the store remains clean and organized. We offer immediate start dates and provide comprehensive training to help you succeed in a fast-paced and friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock shelves, rotate products, and ensure proper product placement.
- Assist customers with locating products and provide friendly service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of aisles, shelves, and storage areas.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment safely (training provided).
- Process incoming shipments and organize backroom inventory.
- Monitor product expiry dates and remove expired items.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic numeracy skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role (not required, but a plus)
- Familiarity with grocery store operations (not required, but a plus)
