Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Chemist with a strong focus on soil and water remediation to join our dynamic team in Omaha, NE. This role will be integral in designing, implementing, and overseeing complex environmental remediation projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will apply advanced chemical principles to assess contaminated sites, develop innovative remediation strategies, and provide expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive site investigations, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling and analysis.
  • Perform detailed data interpretation and evaluation of analytical results to characterize site contamination.
  • Develop and evaluate conceptual site models and fate and transport analyses for various contaminants.
  • Design and optimize remedial action plans, including feasibility studies and technology evaluations for soil and groundwater remediation.
  • Prepare technical reports, remediation work plans, permit applications, and other project deliverables.
  • Provide technical oversight during the implementation of field remediation activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, hydrogeologists, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging remediation technologies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the professional development of the environmental team.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Chemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental consulting or remediation projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in soil and groundwater remediation technologies (e.g., in-situ chemical oxidation, soil vapor extraction, bioremediation).
  • Proficiency in environmental sampling protocols and data management.
  • Strong understanding of CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, and state-specific environmental regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with GIS and environmental modeling software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Chemistry or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., P.G., P.E., or CHMM).
  • Experience with human health risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with Nebraska environmental regulations and agencies (e.g., NDEE).
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
