Job Description
We are seeking a warm, responsible, and experienced Nanny for a wonderful family in New Port Richey, FL. This part-time position is ideal for someone looking for consistent hours during the school day, specifically Monday through Friday from 9am to 2pm, with some flexibility. The primary focus will be on caring for a school-aged child before and after school, as well as providing engaging activities during school holidays or early dismissal days. This role requires an individual who is proactive, reliable, and genuinely loves working with children. You will be an integral part of supporting the child’s daily routine, encouraging development, and maintaining a safe and tidy environment related to the child’s activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for the child during designated hours.
- Assist with morning routines, including breakfast and getting ready for school.
- Prepare healthy snacks and light meals.
- Engage the child in educational and recreational activities (e.g., reading, games, outdoor play).
- Light housekeeping pertaining to the child (tidying play areas, child's laundry, organizing toys).
- Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times.
- Communicate regularly and openly with parents about the child's day and any pertinent observations.
- Manage school pick-ups and drop-offs if required (reliable transportation is a must).
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year (12 months) of professional nanny or childcare experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification (current).
- Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience with children with specific learning needs (if applicable).
- Non-smoker.
