Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Local P&D (Pickup & Delivery) Driver with a Class A CDL to join our stable fleet in Pasco, Washington. As an LTL driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of Less-Than-Truckload freight within the local Pasco area and surrounding regions. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles, including straight trucks and tractor-trailers, to transport LTL freight.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects.
- Execute timely and accurate pickups and deliveries of freight to various customer locations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other appropriate material handling equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Verify freight counts and condition, accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions, addressing inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws.
- Maintain electronic logs (ELDs) accurately and comply with hours of service regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and fellow team members regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an LTL driver
- Forklift certification
- Familiarity with the Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland (Tri-Cities) area roadways and customer base
- High school diploma or equivalent
