Job Description
Are you a motivated and energetic 16-year-old looking for a flexible part-time opportunity? DoorDash is seeking enthusiastic Delivery Riders to join our team in Olathe, Kansas. This is a perfect chance to earn money, stay active, and gain valuable experience without needing a driver’s license – all you need is a bicycle and a smartphone! You’ll be responsible for picking up food orders from local restaurants and delivering them safely and efficiently to customers within a designated area. This role emphasizes reliability, excellent customer service, and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up food orders from various restaurants and stores promptly.
- Deliver orders to customers accurately and in a timely manner using a bicycle.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained during transport.
- Navigate local streets and neighborhoods efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with customers and DoorDash support.
- Manage your delivery schedule through the DoorDash app.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Own and be proficient with a personal bicycle.
- Access to a smartphone with data plan.
- Ability to use navigation apps and the DoorDash driver app.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry delivery bags (up to 25 lbs).
- Comfortable riding a bicycle for extended periods in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or delivery is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with Olathe city streets and neighborhoods.
- A positive, 'can-do' attitude and a desire to provide great service.
