Job Description
Are you a motivated 16-year-old looking for a rewarding part-time job that fits perfectly with your school schedule? Publix Super Markets in New Port Richey, Florida, is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Teens to join our team as Grocery Clerks for morning shifts. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop customer service skills, and become part of a supportive community-focused company. With your afternoons free, you’ll have plenty of time for school, activities, and friends!
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with locating products throughout the store.
- Stock shelves, rotate products, and ensure all grocery areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Help with carry-out services, assisting customers to their vehicles with groceries.
- Maintain a clean and safe shopping environment by promptly addressing spills and hazards.
- Learn to operate cash register accurately and efficiently, if trained, processing customer transactions.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members to ensure smooth store operations and exceptional service.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and age restrictions for certain products.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work early morning shifts, typically starting between 6 AM and 8 AM, for approximately 4-6 hours.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks common in a grocery environment.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service or retail environment (volunteer work or informal roles count!).
- Basic mathematical skills for potential cash handling.
- A positive attitude and a strong eagerness to learn new tasks and take on responsibilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
