Job Description
Join IBM as an AI Infrastructure Support Analyst with a strong networking focus in London. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our advanced AI infrastructure, specifically focusing on network architecture, connectivity, and security for cutting-edge AI/ML workloads. You will diagnose and resolve complex network issues, implement configurations, and collaborate with AI teams to optimize network solutions, driving innovation in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced network and infrastructure support for AI/ML development and deployment environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of AI systems.
- Implement and maintain network configurations, security policies, and performance monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, data scientists, and infrastructure engineers to understand requirements and optimize network solutions.
- Monitor system health, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively implement preventative measures.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide out-of-hours support when necessary.
- Document network architectures, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and resilient network infrastructure for future AI initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in network administration and support (Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall management.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-performance networking for AI/ML clusters (e.g., InfiniBand, RDMA).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and their networking implications.
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with network security best practices and tools.
