Job Description
FedEx is seeking a dedicated and reliable Shuttle Driver for our Short Haul operations in Wichita, Kansas. This is a full-time position with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, offering excellent work-life balance. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods between designated FedEx facilities, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (e.g., box trucks, tractor-trailers) for short-haul routes between FedEx facilities.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any defects or issues immediately.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and accounted for during transit.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain accurate logbook entries and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams regarding route status, delays, and any unforeseen circumstances.
- Represent FedEx professionally at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading duties as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent spatial awareness and maneuvering skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with short-haul or shuttle driving routes.
- Familiarity with local Wichita and surrounding area routes.
- Previous experience with hazardous materials endorsement (if applicable).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
