Job Description
Join Option Care Health, a national leader in home and alternate site infusion services, as a Home Infusion Tech for a crucial mobile role based out of our Wesley Chapel, FL location. We are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and empathetic individual to make a significant impact on patient lives, with the added benefit of weekly bonuses. As a Home Infusion Tech, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation, dispensing, and delivery of infusion medications to patients throughout the Pasco County area. This role requires extensive travel, excellent organizational skills, and a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. You will be an integral part of our patient care team, ensuring patients receive their prescribed therapies efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications, including intravenous (IV) solutions, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Accurately dispense and package medications for home delivery, ensuring proper labeling and storage conditions.
- Safely and efficiently deliver medications and supplies to patient homes, adhering to all regulatory and company guidelines.
- Provide basic patient education regarding the storage and handling of their infusion medications and supplies, as instructed by clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with supply ordering to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and maintain delivery logs.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, patients, and caregivers regarding delivery schedules and medication needs.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Required Skills
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification/licensure in the state of Florida.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a mobile environment.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in home infusion, hospital pharmacy, or sterile compounding.
- Knowledge of infusion therapy and related medical supplies.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
