Job Description

Embark on a rewarding career path in healthcare with AdventHealth as an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to learn and grow within a dynamic clinical outpatient pharmacy setting. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and experienced pharmacy technicians, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training to develop the essential skills required to become a certified pharmacy technician. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with daily outpatient pharmacy operations.
  • Learn to accurately receive, stock, and organize pharmacy inventory.
  • Develop skills in preparing and dispensing medications under pharmacist supervision.
  • Participate in patient education efforts, assisting with medication queries and instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Process prescriptions and patient information efficiently and accurately.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and AdventHealth policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage in training programs and educational modules to enhance pharmacy knowledge and skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care and teamwork.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Enrollment in or completion of a pharmacy technician training program (not required but a plus).
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
