Job Description

As a Cross-Docking Associate at XPO Logistics in Gillette, you will be instrumental in the swift and efficient movement of freight through our distribution center. This fast-paced role involves directly transferring incoming shipments to outgoing trucks with minimal storage, ensuring product integrity and timely delivery. You will work within a supportive team environment, utilizing various material handling equipment to maintain our high standards of operational excellence. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and thrive in a dynamic, high-volume setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and stage incoming freight quickly and accurately.
  • Verify product counts and condition against shipping manifests.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
  • Sort and route products to the appropriate outbound dock doors.
  • Load outgoing freight onto trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
  • Perform basic quality checks on products and packaging.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of inventory and shipping procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cross-docking environment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
