Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist with a strong regulatory focus to join our team in Costa Mesa. In this stable role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that Electronic Arts (EA) operates in full adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies across our diverse range of games and services. You will monitor regulatory changes, assess potential impacts, and implement robust compliance frameworks to mitigate risks and maintain our reputation as a responsible industry leader. This position demands a proactive approach to compliance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor global and local regulatory landscapes for changes impacting the video game industry, including privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, COPPA), consumer protection, advertising, and content guidelines.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on compliance matters, ensuring awareness and adherence to policies.
  • Collaborate with legal, product development, marketing, and security teams to embed compliance requirements into game design, operations, and promotional activities.
  • Oversee and manage internal compliance audits and support external regulatory examinations.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, complaints, and incidents.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on compliance status, findings, and recommendations for senior management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory affairs role, preferably within the technology, entertainment, or gaming industry.
  • Proven understanding of relevant global regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, T&C best practices).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex compliance issues clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CCEP (Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) or equivalent.
  • Experience with international compliance regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
