Job Description

Join Carnival Cruise Line as a Cruise Ship Nurse and embark on an extraordinary journey providing top-tier medical care while traveling the world. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity for registered nurses to apply their skills in a dynamic maritime environment. You will be an integral part of our onboard medical team, dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of both guests and crew members across our international fleet. This role requires adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and a passion for travel and diverse cultural experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for guests and crew members.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist the Medical Doctor in stabilization and treatment.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and perform diagnostic tests as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and reports.
  • Assist with routine medical screenings, health education, and preventative care programs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to international health regulations and company medical protocols.
  • Participate in medical team meetings, drills, and continuous professional development.
  • Manage and maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for all situations.
  • Collaborate effectively with the ship’s medical team, crew, and other departments.

Required Skills

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (US or equivalent international license)
  • Minimum 2 years of post-registration clinical experience, preferably in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, or General Practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in medical record-keeping and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt to an international living and working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an international or remote healthcare setting.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Previous experience on a cruise ship or in a maritime medical setting.
