Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Quality Control to join our executive team in Davenport, IA. This critical role will lead the development and implementation of world-class quality strategies across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a relentless commitment to excellence, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest standards of product quality. This is an on-site executive-level position with a comprehensive relocation package provided for the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality control strategies and systems across all manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality control professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality specifications.
  • Oversee the inspection, testing, and validation of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality deviations and non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, supply chain, and R&D teams to integrate quality by design principles.
  • Manage the quality budget, resources, and technology investments.
  • Report on key quality metrics and performance to executive leadership.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience of 15+ years in a senior quality management role within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
  • Deep understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and quality reporting tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE) or similar certification.
  • Experience with advanced quality planning (APQP) and production part approval process (PPAP).
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment or automotive industry quality standards.
