Job Description

Dogtopia is looking for a dedicated Dog Daycare Attendant to join our Regina team! This role is perfect for someone who loves being active, can manage multiple dogs with a keen eye for safety, and is committed to providing an exceptional experience for every dog in our care. You’ll be part of a vibrant team, ensuring a safe and fun environment for all our canine guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise large groups of dogs in an open-play environment, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Engage with dogs through play, positive reinforcement, and affection.
  • Clean and sanitize playrooms, crates, and common areas to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment.
  • Monitor dog behavior, identify potential issues, and intervene appropriately.
  • Feed and administer medication to dogs as instructed by their parents.
  • Communicate effectively with dog parents regarding their dog's day and any notable observations.
  • Assist with dog introductions and temperament assessments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated love for dogs and understanding of canine behavior.
  • High energy level and ability to stand, walk, and lift throughout an entire shift.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Comfortable with frequent cleaning and handling of pet waste.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting (e.g., vet clinic, animal shelter, pet sitting).
  • Certification in Pet First Aid and CPR.
  • Knowledge of various dog breeds and their unique characteristics.
  • Experience with positive reinforcement training techniques.
