Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and safety-conscious Linehaul Drivers to join our team in Durham, NC. This position offers a significant yearly earning potential of $85,000+ and is a ‘No Touch’ freight role, meaning you will focus solely on driving and safe delivery, not loading or unloading cargo. As a FedEx Freight Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight between service centers, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to all traffic laws and company regulations. We prioritize safety, efficiency, and professional conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (tractor-trailer) to transport freight between specified locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and other necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT hours of service.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding schedules, delays, and equipment issues.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of freight while prioritizing safety and compliance.
- Operate vehicle in a professional and courteous manner, representing FedEx Freight positively.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL with HazMat, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LTL freight operations
- Prior experience with ELD systems
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Southeastern US region
