Job Description
As a FedEx Ground Hub Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our package sorting facility. This entry-level position involves a variety of tasks related to loading, unloading, sorting, and moving packages and freight within the hub. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the timely and accurate delivery of goods to our customers. Safety and teamwork are paramount in this role, and you will be provided with comprehensive training to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload packages and freight from trailers and containers.
- Sort packages by destination, ensuring accurate placement in designated areas.
- Operate package handling equipment, such as scanners and manual pallet jacks, as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support hub operations.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs unassisted, and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and carry for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic literacy and ability to understand English.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar environment.
- Familiarity with package handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
