Job Description
Join the FedEx team as a Material Handler in Sacramento, CA! This is a pivotal role in our fast-paced distribution center, where you will be responsible for the efficient movement, sorting, and handling of packages and freight. You will play a critical part in ensuring timely deliveries and customer satisfaction. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and sort packages and freight manually or using material handling equipment.
- Scan and document incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
- Inspect packages for damage and verify contents against shipping labels.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely (training provided if needed).
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills for scanning and data entry.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or material handling role.
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with scanning technology and inventory management systems.
