Job Description
TruGreen is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as Fence Stainers specializing in outdoor maintenance. This role is crucial for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and longevity of our clients’ fences, contributing significantly to the overall beauty of their outdoor environments. We provide all necessary tools and equipment, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor work and eager to learn or expand their skills in property maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fence surfaces for staining, including thorough cleaning, light sanding, and minor repairs to ensure optimal adhesion and finish.
- Apply stain evenly and consistently to various types of fences (wood, composite) using brushes, rollers, or sprayers, following manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensure proper protection of surrounding areas, including plants, landscaping, and adjacent structures, using masking and drop cloths during the staining process.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust work schedule as needed to ensure optimal application and drying of stain, preventing issues like streaking or uneven coverage.
- Maintain and clean all tools and equipment used, ensuring they are in good working order and stored properly for future projects.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status, potential challenges, and any issues encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients on site, answering questions professionally and courteously.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship and a meticulous finish.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the TruGreen office or designated job sites.
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools; specific equipment training will be provided.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in painting, staining, landscaping, or general outdoor maintenance is a plus.
- Knowledge of different wood types and appropriate staining techniques or products.
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
