Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Foley Artist to join our dynamic post-production team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sound design and a proven ability to bring visual narratives to life through meticulously crafted sound effects. This role is crucial in enhancing the auditory experience of our film and television projects, working closely with sound supervisors and editors to create authentic and impactful sonic landscapes. You will be responsible for recording, syncing, and performing a wide range of everyday sounds, from footsteps and clothing rustles to complex object interactions, ensuring every sound perfectly complements the on-screen action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and record foley effects live to picture using various props and surfaces.
  • Sync recorded foley meticulously to on-screen actions, ensuring precise timing and realism.
  • Collaborate with sound supervisors, mixers, and picture editors to understand project needs and creative direction.
  • Source and maintain a diverse collection of foley props and surfaces.
  • Edit, clean, and process recorded foley tracks using digital audio workstations (DAWs).
  • Maintain organized sound libraries and session files for efficient workflow and archiving.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools or Nuendo.
  • Strong sense of rhythm, timing, and improvisation.
  • Excellent active listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively interpret visual cues into sound.
  • Familiarity with various microphone types and recording techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sound Design, Film Production, Music Technology, or a related field.
  • Portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous foley work.
  • Experience with sound effects libraries and metadata tagging.
  • Basic understanding of acoustics and studio recording environments.
