Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Inventory Planning Manager to join our dynamic supply chain team in Campbellton, New Brunswick. This role is critical in optimizing inventory levels across our distribution network, ensuring product availability while minimizing carrying costs. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in forecasting, demand planning, and supply chain management within a retail or large-scale distribution environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to achieve target service levels and inventory turns.
  • Lead demand forecasting activities, collaborating with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to align forecasts with business objectives.
  • Monitor inventory performance, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage inventory levels across multiple distribution centers, ensuring optimal stock levels for various product categories.
  • Utilize advanced planning systems and tools to generate reports, analyze data, and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, including stock-outs, overstocking, and obsolescence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management processes and systems.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members on best practices in inventory planning.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to optimize inbound and outbound material flow.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle, JDA) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
  • APICS CSCP or CPIM certification.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Previous experience working with a large-scale retail or grocery distribution network.
  • Familiarity with Canadian retail market dynamics.
