Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantitative Analyst (Quant) to join our dynamic team in Portland, ME. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing complex quantitative models, analytics, and tools to support our investment strategies across various asset classes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and financial markets, with the ability to translate intricate data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and backtest quantitative models for asset allocation, risk management, portfolio construction, and trading strategies.
- Conduct rigorous research on financial markets, economic data, and alternative data sources to identify new investment opportunities and risks.
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyze large datasets and generate predictive insights.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and technology teams to integrate quantitative models into production systems.
- Monitor model performance, identify limitations, and propose enhancements to existing methodologies.
- Produce clear and concise documentation for models, research findings, and analytical tools.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, academic research, and regulatory changes relevant to quantitative finance.
Required Skills
- Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in quantitative finance or a related analytical role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn) and R.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, time series analysis, machine learning techniques, and optimization algorithms.
- Solid knowledge of financial markets, asset pricing, portfolio theory, and risk management concepts.
- Experience with large datasets and database technologies (e.g., SQL).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA or FRM designation.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark).
- Familiarity with C++ or Java for high-performance computing.
- Prior experience in algorithmic trading, derivatives pricing, or fixed income modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to present complex quantitative concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
