Epic Games is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Game Designer to join our team in Uptown Charlotte. This unique role offers a structured QA path, providing invaluable hands-on experience in quality assurance while immersing you in the creative process of game design through dedicated mentorship.
This is an incredible opportunity for an entry-level professional to learn the intricacies of game development from the ground up, focusing on how design decisions impact player experience and game quality. You will work closely with experienced designers and QA specialists, contributing to the creation of innovative and engaging games.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in playtesting sessions across various stages of game development, providing detailed, constructive feedback on gameplay, mechanics, and user experience.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and design inconsistencies using our internal bug tracking systems.
- Collaborate with senior designers and QA leads to understand design goals and test cases, contributing to the refinement of game features.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of design documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Learn and apply core game design principles, focusing on player psychology, game balance, and content pacing under direct mentorship.
- Actively engage in design discussions and brainstorming sessions, offering a fresh perspective informed by your QA insights.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and innovative team environment.
