Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Music Software QA Tester to join our distributed team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality, stability, and usability of our cutting-edge music production software and digital instruments. You will be responsible for executing test plans, identifying bugs, and collaborating closely with our development and product teams to deliver an exceptional user experience for musicians and producers worldwide. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features and existing functionalities within our music software applications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using our bug tracking system.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to understand product requirements and ensure testability.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Provide detailed and reproducible bug reports with relevant logs and steps to reproduce.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and tools.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in music technology and software testing methodologies.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably within software development.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs.
- Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, or Pro Tools.
- Basic understanding of music theory and audio production concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration in a remote environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Asana).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Music Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting (e.g., Python, Selenium).
- Familiarity with macOS and Windows operating systems.
- Experience testing VST/AU/AAX plugins and standalone applications.
- Hands-on experience with Native Instruments products.
