Job Description
P&G Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Natural Products Chemist with a strong focus on herbal and supplement research and development. This is a 100% remote position where you will play a crucial role in the identification, isolation, characterization, and quality control of natural compounds used in our leading health and wellness products. You will contribute to product innovation, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the scientific integrity of our portfolio, working from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the chemical analysis of botanical raw materials and finished natural health products, utilizing advanced analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, and NMR.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for the quantitative and qualitative assessment of active compounds, contaminants, and degradation products in herbal extracts and dietary supplements.
- Investigate and characterize novel natural compounds for potential use in new product development, contributing to intellectual property generation.
- Ensure all analytical activities comply with cGMP, FDA regulations, and other relevant industry standards for dietary supplements.
- Collaborate remotely with R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges and support product launch initiatives.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, data analysis, and results, preparing comprehensive reports and presentations.
- Stay abreast of scientific literature, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes pertaining to natural products and dietary supplements.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in analytical chemistry techniques, including HPLC, UPLC, GC-MS, and Spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR).
- Strong understanding of natural product chemistry, botanical identification, and active ingredient characterization.
- In-depth knowledge of cGMP and FDA regulations for dietary supplements and natural health products.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for a remote work environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience with isolation and purification of natural compounds from complex matrices.
- Familiarity with formulation science for dietary supplements.
- Experience mentoring junior scientists or leading small project teams.
