Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our team at The Assembly House. This is a crucial role ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our guests during the quiet night hours. You will be the sole point of contact for guests, handling late check-ins, early check-outs, and any inquiries, while also performing essential security and preparation tasks for the following day. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage late check-ins and early check-outs efficiently and courteously.
  • Handle guest queries and requests, providing accurate information and assistance.
  • Conduct regular security checks of the premises, ensuring all areas are secure.
  • Monitor CCTV and respond to any alarms or unusual activities.
  • Prepare breakfast areas and public spaces for the morning shift.
  • Assist with light cleaning duties and maintain the presentation of the reception and lobby areas.
  • Process end-of-day reports and handover accurate information to the morning team.
  • Ensure guest comfort and address any issues promptly and discreetly.

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment during night shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer literacy for check-in/out procedures and reporting.
  • A responsible and reliable attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Night Porter or in a similar overnight role.
  • First Aid and/or Fire Marshal training.
  • Knowledge of local area attractions and services.
  • Proficiency with hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Guestline).
