Job Description
Kadlec Regional Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-time Newborn Care Aide to join our weekend night shift team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in healthcare, particularly with an interest in maternal and infant care. Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with basic care for newborns, including feeding, changing, and comforting.
- Monitor infant vital signs and report any unusual observations to registered nurses.
- Maintain a clean and organized nursery environment, ensuring supplies are stocked.
- Support new parents with basic infant care techniques and education under nurse supervision.
- Document care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
- Provide compassionate and respectful care to all patients and their families.
- Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Patience and empathy when working with newborns and their families
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous experience in a healthcare or childcare setting (volunteer or paid)
- Familiarity with medical terminology
