Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Part-time School Cleaner with a strong focus on weekend deep cleaning. This stable position is crucial for ensuring our school facilities remain pristine, healthy, and conducive to learning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for comprehensive cleaning tasks, particularly focusing on detailed sanitization, floor care, and general upkeep during weekend shifts. This role requires an individual who is meticulous, self-motivated, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough deep cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas during weekend hours.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet extractors, and power washers.
- Strip, wax, and buff floors; shampoo carpets as scheduled.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and furniture.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas.
- Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and district cleaning protocols.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial or institutional cleaning, especially in schools.
- Familiarity with deep cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to speak and understand English.
