Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a home setting, including assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and medication reminders.
- Monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient condition, and report any concerns to supervising nurses.
- Assist patients with light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and errands as needed to support their independent living.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients within their homes.
- Document care provided and patient observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
- Adhere to all Atrium Health policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols.
- Actively participate in training and development programs to advance skills and knowledge relevant to a nursing career.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong empathy, patience, and compassion for patients.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (e.g., volunteer, personal care for family members).
- Current enrollment or intent to enroll in a CNA or nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages common in the community.
