Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pinterest Compliance Officer with a strong regulatory focus to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position (Work From Home) responsible for ensuring Pinterest’s adherence to global regulatory requirements, with a particular emphasis on data privacy, content moderation, advertising standards, and consumer protection laws. You will play a crucial role in mitigating risks, developing compliance programs, and advising internal stakeholders on complex regulatory matters. This role requires a proactive approach, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, interpret, and disseminate information on new and evolving global regulatory requirements relevant to Pinterest's operations, particularly in areas like data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), content governance (DSA, DMA), and advertising.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits to identify potential gaps and ensure adherence to internal controls and external regulations.
- Advise product, engineering, legal, public policy, and business teams on regulatory compliance implications of new features, products, and market expansions.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to respond to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and data requests.
- Manage and oversee compliance projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Provide guidance and support for internal teams on compliance-related issues, fostering a culture of compliance across the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements impacting regulatory compliance.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs role within the technology, social media, or internet services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and experience with their practical application.
- Strong understanding of digital content moderation laws and regulations (e.g., DSA, Section 230).
- Familiarity with advertising regulations and consumer protection laws.
- Proven ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents and translate them into actionable compliance programs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CISM, or similar.
- Experience working with international regulatory bodies.
- Project management experience, particularly with compliance-related initiatives.
- Familiarity with compliance software and tools.
