Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Reservoir Engineer Associate to join our corporate team in Houston, Texas. This entry-level position is designed for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience eager to begin a challenging and rewarding career in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis, evaluation, and optimization of hydrocarbon reservoirs, working alongside experienced engineers and geoscientists. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis of reservoir performance data, including production trends, well tests, and pressure data.
- Support the development and maintenance of reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and evaluate development scenarios.
- Contribute to the estimation of hydrocarbon reserves and resources.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (geologists, geophysicists, production engineers) to integrate subsurface data.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing reservoir studies and recommendations.
- Participate in field development planning and optimization studies.
- Learn and apply new reservoir engineering technologies and workflows.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
- Strong foundation in reservoir engineering principles, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Familiarity with industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, CMG) or a strong aptitude to learn quickly.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior internship or project experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data processing and automation.
- Knowledge of economic evaluation principles for oil and gas projects.
