Job Description

PPL Electric Utilities is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as a Smart Grid Installation Assistant. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians and engineers with the installation, configuration, and testing of smart grid devices and infrastructure.
  • Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Handle and organize tools, equipment, and materials required for smart grid installations.
  • Perform basic diagnostic checks and troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Document installation activities, equipment status, and maintenance records accurately.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and company vehicles.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and challenges.

Required Skills

  • Eagerness and aptitude for learning new technical skills and concepts.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when necessary.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Some vocational training or coursework in electronics, electrical systems, or a related technical field.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with mobile devices.
  • Prior experience in a labor-intensive role or a construction environment.
