Job Description

Texas Christian University is looking for enthusiastic and reliable students to join our Event Crew with a specific focus on event setup and pack-down. This is a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of various campus events, from sports fixtures to university ceremonies and social gatherings. You’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for preparing event spaces and restoring them afterward. This part-time position offers flexible hours, perfect for students seeking to gain practical experience, develop teamwork skills, and contribute to the vibrant TCU community. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the physical setup of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, staging, lighting, and sound equipment.
  • Prepare and organize event materials and signage as directed.
  • Collaborate with event managers and other crew members to ensure all setup requirements are met according to schedule.
  • Carefully dismantle event setups and pack down equipment, ensuring items are stored correctly and safely.
  • Clean and clear event areas post-event, leaving spaces tidy and ready for their next use.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and university guidelines during setup and pack-down activities.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic, representing TCU professionally at all times.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) safely and repeatedly.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently when required.
  • Must be a current student enrolled at TCU or another local institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in event support, stagehand work, or a similar physical labor role is a plus.
  • Familiarity with various event equipment (e.g., sound systems, projectors, staging).
  • Basic knowledge of AV equipment setup.
