Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to foster parents, addressing their concerns and needs.
  • Conduct regular home visits to ensure the well-being and safety of children in foster care.
  • Assist foster families in accessing necessary resources, including therapy, educational support, and community programs.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between foster families, biological families, and other stakeholders.
  • Document all interactions and maintain accurate records in compliance with agency standards and regulations.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to continually enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Advocate for the best interests of children in foster care.
  • Assist with the intake process for new foster families, providing initial orientation and support.

Required Skills

  • Strong empathy and compassion for children and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior volunteer or work experience in social services, education, or childcare settings.
  • Knowledge of child welfare systems and regulations.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
  • A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.
