Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to foster parents, addressing their concerns and needs.
- Conduct regular home visits to ensure the well-being and safety of children in foster care.
- Assist foster families in accessing necessary resources, including therapy, educational support, and community programs.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between foster families, biological families, and other stakeholders.
- Document all interactions and maintain accurate records in compliance with agency standards and regulations.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to continually enhance skills and knowledge.
- Advocate for the best interests of children in foster care.
- Assist with the intake process for new foster families, providing initial orientation and support.
Required Skills
- Strong empathy and compassion for children and families.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior volunteer or work experience in social services, education, or childcare settings.
- Knowledge of child welfare systems and regulations.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.
