Job Description
Are you passionate about the ocean and looking for a flexible role in a dynamic retail environment? Ocean Sports Brighton is seeking an enthusiastic Surf Shop Assistant for casual day work at our Worthing location. This role is perfect for someone who loves to be by the coast, enjoys helping customers, and has a keen interest in surfing and watersports. You’ll be assisting with daily shop operations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring our store is always ready for the next wave of shoppers. No prior experience is necessary, just a great attitude and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with product inquiries, offering expert advice and friendly service.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system.
- Maintain a tidy and well-organized shop floor, including merchandising and stock replenishment.
- Assist with receiving and unboxing new stock, ensuring proper display.
- Provide information on local surf conditions and watersports activities.
- Handle customer returns and exchanges efficiently and courteously.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in surfing, watersports, or coastal lifestyle.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic numeracy for handling transactions.
