Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company-owned package delivery vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Deliver and pick up packages in a timely manner along assigned routes.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, often requiring lifting, carrying, and bending.
- Scan and log package information using a handheld device.
- Obtain customer signatures when required and adhere to delivery protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license (CDL not required for package car drivers).
- Clean driving record for the past 3 years.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 pounds, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
- Excellent physical condition to handle demanding routes and variable weather conditions.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or driving role.
- Knowledge of the Cedar Rapids geographic area.
- Experience using handheld scanning devices.
