Job Description

Are you a gaming enthusiast with a keen eye for detail and a knack for identifying issues in fast-paced environments? Xbox Game Studios is seeking a dedicated Game Tester to join our quality assurance team. In this ‘High Speed Environment, Subito’ role, you will be crucial in ensuring our next generation of games meet the highest standards of quality and playability, even under rapid development cycles. You will be responsible for rigorously testing game features, identifying bugs, and providing clear, concise feedback to our development teams on an immediate basis. This role requires a proactive approach, an ability to adapt quickly to changes, and a passion for delivering flawless gaming experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and test cases with speed and precision, providing immediate feedback on game functionality, stability, and performance.
  • Identify, reproduce, and accurately document software defects and anomalies using bug tracking systems.
  • Prioritize and communicate critical bugs and user experience issues to development teams instantly.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and other QA team members in a highly agile and fast-moving environment.
  • Perform regression testing, verification testing, and ad-hoc testing as required by rapid development cycles.
  • Contribute to the improvement of test processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in a 'subito' context.
  • Provide constructive feedback on game design, usability, and overall player experience.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in game testing or quality assurance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear bug reporting.
  • Proficiency with gaming platforms and various game genres.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-speed, dynamic, and collaborative team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming mechanics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with test case management tools.
  • Knowledge of various testing methodologies (e.g., functional, performance, usability).
  • Experience with automation testing concepts or tools.
  • A degree or certification in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Game Design).
