Job Description
Join Spark Power Group as a Solar Maintenance Laborer in Kitchener, Ontario, and become a vital part of our renewable energy team. This stable, full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growing green energy sector. You will be responsible for performing essential maintenance tasks on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring their optimal performance and longevity. This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, possess a strong work ethic, and are eager to learn and grow within the renewable energy industry. No extensive prior solar experience is required, as we provide on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the routine inspection and preventative maintenance of solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, and racking.
- Perform cleaning of solar panels to maximize energy production.
- Support technicians with troubleshooting and repair activities on solar equipment.
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of new solar arrays as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and working at heights.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and vehicles.
- Complete accurate documentation of maintenance activities and work orders.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
- Excellent adherence to safety regulations and practices.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Effective communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in construction, general labor, or outdoor work.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Working at Heights certification.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems or solar technology.
