Job Description
Loblaw Digital is seeking a passionate and skilled Shopify Developer to join our innovative e-commerce team in Pickering, Ontario. As a Shopify Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge Shopify Plus stores for our diverse portfolio of brands. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and is dedicated to creating seamless and engaging online shopping experiences. You will be responsible for custom theme development, app integrations, and ensuring the scalability and performance of our Shopify platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes and functionalities using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Integrate third-party applications and APIs to enhance store features and user experience.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and marketing teams to translate designs and requirements into functional e-commerce solutions.
- Optimize website performance, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
- Perform thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality, bug-free deployments.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, industry trends, and development best practices.
- Contribute to code reviews and maintain clear, well-documented code.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Shopify stores and integrations.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience developing on the Shopify platform.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g., jQuery, React, Vue.js).
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Demonstrable experience with Shopify Plus, including custom storefronts, Checkout Extensibility, and Hydrogen.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Shopify API (Storefront API, Admin API).
- Familiarity with modern build tools (Webpack, Gulp).
- Experience with other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
