Job Description
As an Engineering Documentation Scribe at L3Harris Technologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the clarity, accuracy, and completeness of our technical documentation. This 100% remote position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of engineering concepts and the ability to translate complex technical information into accessible and user-friendly documentation. You will work closely with engineering teams to capture design specifications, test procedures, and operational manuals, contributing directly to the success of our projects and the safety of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to gather information for technical manuals, specifications, and reports.
- Write, edit, and proofread documentation for grammar, syntax, style, and accuracy.
- Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
- Maintain and update existing documentation, incorporating feedback and revisions.
- Develop templates and guidelines for consistent and effective documentation.
- Manage documentation version control and repository.
- Participate in peer reviews of technical documents.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in technical writing and documentation best practices.
- Ability to understand complex engineering and technical concepts.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD software or engineering design tools.
- Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or electronics industry standards.
- Proficiency with document management systems (DMS).
- Certification in technical writing or editing.
