Job Description
Are you passionate about natural hair and eager to start a rewarding career? Divine Roots Natural Hair Studio is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Natural Hair Specialist Trainee to join our vibrant team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with little to no prior experience in professional hair styling, but a strong desire to learn and grow within the natural hair care industry. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training in various natural hair techniques, including braiding, twisting, loc creation and maintenance, and proper hair care practices. Under the guidance of our experienced stylists, you will develop the skills necessary to become a proficient and confident natural hair specialist. Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist senior stylists in client consultations and service delivery.
- Learn and practice various braiding techniques (e.g., cornrows, box braids, Marley twists).
- Receive training in loc creation, maintenance, and styling.
- Master shampooing, conditioning, and treatment applications for natural hair.
- Assist with salon upkeep, including cleaning, sanitizing tools, and maintaining product inventory.
- Engage with clients in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive salon experience.
- Attend all training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and product knowledge.
- Adhere to all salon policies, hygiene standards, and safety protocols.
- Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling appointments and processing payments.
