Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Delivery Offsider to join our team in St. John’s, NL. As a Delivery Offsider, you will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of furniture to our customers’ homes. This role involves significant heavy lifting, careful handling of merchandise, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist drivers with the safe and efficient delivery of furniture and appliances to customer homes.
  • Perform heavy lifting, loading, and unloading of various furniture pieces, often weighing up to 75 lbs (34 kg), throughout the day.
  • Navigate delivery routes and provide clear directions as needed.
  • Assemble basic furniture items on-site at customer residences.
  • Ensure proper handling and care of merchandise to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
  • Provide excellent, friendly, and professional customer service during all interactions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe delivery vehicle environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and transportation regulations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to consistently and safely lift and move heavy furniture (up to 75 lbs / 34 kg) throughout the day.
  • Strong physical stamina, endurance, and comfort with repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent teamwork and clear communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Basic problem-solving abilities to handle delivery challenges.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a delivery, moving, or warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with furniture handling, assembly, and customer service.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (even if not driving, demonstrates understanding of road safety).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
