Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and fashion-savvy E-commerce Vintage Clothing Sorter to join our dynamic warehouse team in Milwaukee, WI. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for meticulously sorting, evaluating, and preparing a wide array of vintage clothing for sale on our bustling e-commerce platforms. This position requires a keen eye for fashion trends, an understanding of vintage aesthetics, and a commitment to quality. You will play a vital part in identifying unique pieces, ensuring product integrity, and contributing to the success of our online vintage collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and sort incoming donations of clothing and textiles, with a primary focus on vintage items.
- Assess the condition, quality, and authenticity of vintage clothing, identifying any defects or areas for repair.
- Categorize items based on style, era, brand, fabric, and potential market value for e-commerce.
- Utilize a strong understanding of current and emerging fashion trends, as well as historical vintage styles, to select marketable items.
- Prepare items for online listing, which may include light cleaning, steaming, or basic repairs.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and organization within the sorting area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
- Collaborate with the e-commerce team to understand listing requirements and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Exceptional eye for detail and strong observational skills.
- Demonstrated passion for fashion, particularly vintage clothing and current trends.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, thrift, consignment, or a warehouse sorting role.
- Knowledge of various clothing brands, fabrics, and textile care.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms or online selling best practices.
- Experience with quality control processes for apparel.
