Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Dermatology Clinic Assistant to join our specialist care team in Brighton. This is a fast-paced role ideal for someone with excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine interest in patient care within a clinical setting. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our dermatology clinic, supporting both patients and clinical staff in delivering high-quality, efficient specialist care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare consultation rooms and equipment for patient appointments.
- Assist dermatologists and nurses during examinations and minor procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Sterilise and manage clinical instruments according to health and safety protocols.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage clinic diaries efficiently.
- Provide clear pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients.
- Handle patient inquiries, both in person and over the phone, with professionalism.
- Stock management and ordering of clinic supplies.
- Ensure the clinic environment is clean, tidy, and welcoming.
- Process patient payments and manage basic administrative tasks.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare or clinical administrative role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using clinical management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Healthcare Support or equivalent.
- Previous experience specifically within a dermatology or specialist clinic.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems specific to dermatology.
