Job Description
Skanska USA Civil is seeking experienced and safety-conscious Dump Truck Drivers to join our dynamic construction teams in the New Port Richey, FL area. This is a vital role responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials, including asphalt, dirt, aggregates, and other construction-related goods, to and from various job sites. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks of various sizes (e.g., tandem, tri-axle) to transport materials such as dirt, gravel, sand, asphalt, and construction debris.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, maintaining accurate logs and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient material delivery and removal.
- Load and unload materials responsibly, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure containment.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Assist with other labor duties on site as needed, when not actively driving.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude while representing the company.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks in a construction environment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, and repetitive motions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with various types of construction materials handling.
- Familiarity with local Pasco County road networks and construction sites.
