Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hydrotherapy Assistant to join our esteemed physiotherapy team at our Westminster hospital. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to patient rehabilitation and wellbeing in a private hospital setting, ensuring a stable and rewarding career. As a Hydrotherapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our physiotherapists in delivering high-quality hydrotherapy sessions, assisting patients with various conditions, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment within our hydrotherapy pool. Your commitment to patient care and teamwork will be essential in helping individuals achieve their recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified physiotherapists in planning and delivering hydrotherapy treatment sessions for a diverse patient caseload.
- Support patients in and out of the hydrotherapy pool, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Monitor patients' reactions and progress during sessions, reporting observations to the physiotherapist.
- Prepare and maintain the hydrotherapy pool area, including equipment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and session logs.
- Provide encouragement and motivation to patients, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, supporting the efficient running of the physiotherapy department.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good understanding of health and safety guidelines, particularly in a pool environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients and handle equipment.
- Basic IT proficiency for record-keeping.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare support role, ideally within a physiotherapy or hydrotherapy setting.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Qualification in pool plant operations or willingness to undertake training.
