Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant WFH Pinterest Moderator to join our team, focusing on maintaining a secure and positive online community. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that Pinterest remains a safe and inspiring platform for all users by reviewing content, enforcing community guidelines, and actively contributing to a healthy digital environment. This is a critical role for individuals passionate about online safety, content integrity, and user experience, working from the comfort of their home.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor user-generated content (Pins, comments, boards) on the Pinterest platform for adherence to community guidelines and terms of service.
- Identify and take appropriate action on content that violates policies, including but not limited to spam, misinformation, hate speech, harassment, graphic violence, and illegal activities.
- Review flagged content and make informed decisions quickly and accurately, often under pressure.
- Utilize moderation tools and internal systems to manage content queues and track moderation activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation guidelines and processes by providing feedback to policy and product teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex or sensitive cases as needed.
- Stay informed about current online safety trends and potential threats to user communities.
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality and data security while handling sensitive user information.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (US English).
- Strong understanding of online community dynamics and content moderation principles.
- Ability to make consistent, objective decisions based on established guidelines.
- High level of empathy and discretion when dealing with sensitive content.
- Proficiency with various online tools and platforms; comfortable with technology.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain focus and productivity in a fast-paced work setting.
- Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a private workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in content moderation, online community management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Pinterest as a user or moderator.
- Experience working with content management systems or moderation platforms.
- Knowledge of current social media trends and internet culture.
- Ability to adapt to evolving policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
